Ride Description |
Rare opportunity to ride in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty! All classes of 22km and over have the opportunity to ride on Rhossili Beach. Rhossili Beach has recently been voted the Best Beach in the UK, The Rhossili Downs overlooking the Beach has been voted Britain's Best Picnic Spot and the whole area was in 2006 voted the 11th Best View in the World... and you get to ride on it all! This ride has a bit of everything! For the most part it is open moorland and grassy bridleways. There are also sand dunes, woodland, stony tracks, stream and river crossings, fields, some pretty challenging hills and of course the beaches. A few road crossings and sections of quiet lanes. A great fittening ride for the Red Dragon. Free camping/corralling for those who help on Friday or on one of the ride days. Estimated % of tarmac: 4-9%, lower figure dependent on field permissions. |
